The Orville McCornack House is one of three distinctive residences designed by Leonard B. Willeke in Detroit's Indian Village neighborhood. The residence was commissioned in 1915 by Orville H. McCornack, a salesman with the Hudson Motor Car Company.

 

The design proposal developed a material and color scheme for the whole house that tried to respect and reinterpret the original design features of the residence such as the skillfully handled decorative brickwork, buff stone Roman-style columns, and arched windows. The scope of work included the design of a new kitchen, the addition of a new bathroom to create an owner's suite and material and lighting specifications, all within the constraints of a tight budget.
